At the undergraduate level, we serve teacher prepartion programs thoughout the college by providing a basic course in working with Instructional Technology for all teacher education candidates,
You can earn a Masters Degree as an Instructional Technologist that provides permanent teaching certification within the state of Ohio. While receiving that Masters Degree, if you choose, you can simultaneously obtain a Computing/Technology Endorsment from the state of Ohio, which helps provide the credentials for becoming a school or district technology coordinator. You can obtain this Masters Degree (and the Endorsement) entirely online.
If you are interested in becoming a school librarian/media specialist, there are several programs available, depending upon your circumstances. If you already possess a teaching certificate, you can earn a Masters Degree that includes Library/Media Licensure from the state of Ohio. If you do not have a teaching certificate, we offer an initial licensure program in the Library/Media specialization, which will provide both teaching certificate and Library/Media Licensure. Finally, if you have both a teaching certificate and a Masters Degree, there is a program for only the Library/Media Licensure.
If you already have a Masters Degree, you may be interested in obtaining one of our certificates. These certificate programs consist of five courses that apply directly to a given instructional skill with technology. One is in Integrating Technology into the Classroom. Another is for those involved in Online Teaching and Learning activities.
Finally, the Instructional Technology program offers a doctorate in Educational Psychology, with a specialization in Instructional Technology. This PhD. will qualify you to become a college professor or enhance your credentials in a field where working with new communications and information technologies is critical to success. This doctorate can be obtained entirely online.
